Labs for Session 7 include those related to security, master pages and navigation.
c:\labs\set 1\Session 3 ASP.NET\Lab5 Security\lab_5_Security.html
For this lab you will only do the first part, adding a login page and using the web site configuration tool to enable Forms security. Do not do anything after the heading
Adding Profile Support
. This section is based in early Beta materials for .NET 2.0. .NET 2.0 does support Profiles (if you remember from the lecture) but the ASP.NET Configuration tool/site does not support configuring it (you have to do it all manually).
c:\labs\set 1\Session 3 ASP.NET\Lab6 MasterPages\lab_6_MasterPages.html
This lab gets you to add a master page to our DVD site. You will add in the master page and add in a brand-new content page.
Note that for the next three labs, the lab directions get you to take the starter files from the incorrect folder. The correct folder should be under the c:\labs\set 2\labs folder.
c:\labs\set 2\labs\lab 7 - masterpages\Lab7masterpages.html
This lab gets you to add in a master page to the site managing the Northwind database. It then gets you retrofit an existing page to use the new master page.
c:\labs\set 2\labs\lab 8 - sitenavigation\Lab8sitenavigation.html
This lab gets you to use a treeview control to access a sitemap and add in navigational capabilities to our Northwind site.
c:\labs\set 2\labs\lab 10 - security\Lab10security.html
This lab gets you to add in login capabilites to our Northwind site, including a login page, etc.
Again, lab solutions for all these labs should be in the Solutions folder in the directory with the lab directions.
